..would have been 183 years old today, had he lived in the worlds he created in his infinite imagination. Author of amazing works such as A Journey to the Center of the Earth, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and Around the World in Eighty Days, he was the original steampunk, the undying explorer, adventurer of wonder and magic.
A few months ago I found a (almost) complete set of Jules Verne’s books at a fleemarket, and although I had all of them in english already (and as audiobooks too – I’m a real audiobook-junkie), I decided to bring them home with me. This set was in Norwegian, and the thought of being able to read them to my daughter in a few years, and the hope that they will ignite the same sensation of wonder for her as they did for me, left me content and utterly happy.
Anyways; I will be the travelling companion of Mr Phileas Fogg today, and I welcome any and all who wish to join us on the journey. :)
